Who We Are
Metaltide was founded by geologists Aaron McLeod and Shane Pike. The pair met and studied geology at the Queensland University of Technology, and throughout their respective careers regularly discussed collaborating and forming a company. Over twenty years later and after holding positions with junior and major mining companies, a rare occurrence was presented where both were looking for new opportunities and were in the same country; Metaltide was born.
The underlying principles and business model of Metaltide is to provide quality, and equally as important honest geological assessment, interpretation, and advice. Metaltide aims to work with good projects and good people to discover, define, and extract minerals and metals of economic significance.
Shane Pike has over 20 years’ experience in the industry, working across all geology disciplines including greenfields and brownfields exploration, resource definition, and mine geology (open pit and underground). Shane has worked for companies such as Equigold, Newcrest and Evolution Mining in senior geological positions, with his most recent role before co-founding Metaltide was CEO of an ASX listed exploration company.
Aaron McLeod is a geologist with over 20 years of international mining industry experience in exploration and development in Australia, Asia, South America, Eastern Europe and Africa. Aaron’s career has spanned junior to major mining companies and activities from project generation / identification, greenfields & brownfields exploration through to resource definition and extraction. His most recent role prior to co-founding Metaltide was in Mali as Exploration Manager for Resolute Mining.
